I’m Marina, and chances are, I’m a lot like you. I’m a woman, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.
I’m also a woman, a feminist, a realistic optimist, a lover of colorful things, an appreciator of music, color and this beautiful earth on which we live. My stories tend to have a lot of branches and circles, and, in my world, there’s no such thing as “the short version.” I like to laugh, and I get to laugh a lot. Not only am I a pretty easy audience, but I also have a lot of funny people in my life – including my husband who gets me giggling all the time.
I believe in that all-out dance parties are sometimes best in the living room, that kind words really do matter, that rigorous honesty is worth it and that most of us take ourselves a little too seriously sometimes.
I also am a lover, follower and obeyer of Jesus. He is everything, and as I learn to walk it out with Him in real life, I am loving Him more and more and always more.
I’m also a writer and speaker-in-training who has a crazy big and burning desire to inspire and embolden others to live into absolute freedom. Where are the areas or settings in which you feel insecure, self-conscious, withdrawn, fearful or ashamed? We all have them (me included), but I know with certainty down in my bones that the plan and desire and vision of God is that we learn to find freedom in (and sometimes through) them! All of them. And all of us.
This little slice of the web is for women who know that there is more for them, and that Jesus is the key. This site is for women who have “tried harder” too much and are looking for hope that maybe the next season of life can hold a little less trying and a little more being. Accordant Life is for people who are sure that we weren’t met to live life boxed in, afraid of our own personalities and unable to say “no” without feeling like failures. This is a place for those of us that (although we may love them) aren’t finding fulfillment in our to-do-lists. Check list living isn’t working. We need something more. Accordant Life is about learning how to live into the more. (Keeping reading about an Accordant Life here)
I will keep seeking. I will keep growing. I will keep knocking on doors and letting Jesus help me knock down the walls that cage me. That’s not just my desire; as His, it’s my birthright. Yours too if you want it. Come knock down walls with me. It won’t all be easy, but I promise we’ll have some fun. And, in the end, it’s worth it. He’s worth it. And so are you.Wrong form ID
